Post-aversay

I have had this website established for more than a year, but what makes this date so special is that this is the anniversary of my first post. Exactly one year ago today, I put my thoughts and feelings out for the world to see. To be honest, I am learning as I go and I promise to get more advice, ideas, and content for my audience! I really appreciate the feedback! It has given me the courage to carve out my own little slice of the world of social commentary and reviews. It is something I used to dream about and I know it only goes up from here!

I have a full-time job, I am a full-time doctoral student, and a full-time puppy mom! Although, I have to work my posts into my schedule, I do not consider this work, but more of a therapeutic outlet. I have always stated that writing saved my life. It got me through my dark teenage years and is still a source of comfort.

For all of those who support me, just know I am eternally grateful! This is not a huge platform (yet), but has the potential to be great and is all mine! I am so proud of all that we have shared together! It is satisfying to know that I am not alone in my feelings and hard times!

My first post was inspired by a conversation with friends. It grew from there by highlighting things I am going through and my obvious love for music and reading! One year down and many more to go! Thank you blackbirds for inspiring me to be free through my writings! I am not removed from the days of writing in a journal! I still write in a journal every single day!

I chose the name singsongblackbird because I am black, I am free, and my voice is my most important asset. That is something that I do not take for granted.
