I Know It Was The Blood

This time of year is my favorite, but this year it is even more meaningful. There are so many different examples of God’s love, but the resurrection hits me especially different. Thinking about Jesus’ sacrifice to give mankind a chance at salvation makes me emotional. I am not worthy, yet on the cross, He died for me. His love is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, and it cannot be duplicated. I am so very thankful for the sacrifice God made. I think about the words to the song sung during communion in church:

I know it was the blood, I know it was the blood, I know it was the blood for me. One day when I was lost, He died upon the cross, and I know it was the blood for me.

That act is always on my heart. He died so that we may have life. He was captured, tortured, and was resurrected on the third day, and God’s will was done. There is no need to feel inadequate, to feel like you are not wanted or valued, to feel like you do not deserve the blessings you have, to feel like you’re a failure. Jesus paid the price. As long as you diligently seek him, you will prosper. What God told the prophet Jeremiah in Jeremiah 29:11 still rings true for the ones He loves. Let the love abide in every area of your life. You do not have to settle when your Heavenly Father paid it all on that Good Friday.

In this time of peril, sadness, and uncertainty, I am reminded that everything, good and bad, is all by design. We do not have the full picture, but our maker does. Have faith and be encouraged. Storms are not designed to last forever. This is the time to take care of yourself. Whatever that looks like, open your mind and allow God to dwell in your thoughts and actions and I  will do the same. Even if you have to yell and cry, do what you need to do to maintain. But tough people and God’s love does. Let the love he left on the cross into every corner of your heart, mind, and life. I  promise it’s worth it.

Happy Resurrection Sunday
